Home to one of America's premier permanent collections, the Chrysler Museum of Art possesses more than 30,000 pieces spanning more than 5,000 years of art history.

Described by the Wall Street Journal as one of the top twenty museums in the country, the Chrysler offers renowned changing exhibitions as well as significant educational, cultural and Art Travel programming, including lectures, tours and films. Two Historic Houses, one housing the new Norfolk History Museum, poignantly bring the history of Norfolk to life.

The Chrysler’s waterfront site on the Hague inlet of the historic Elizabeth River includes the largest art reference library in the Southeast—the Jean Outland Chrysler Library—as well as the Museum Theatre, Cuisine & Company restaurant, and a Gift Shop.

The Chrysler Museum of Art has been described by The New York Times as "one of the pleasantest places in the United States to while the day away."
